The Bistum Tambacounda ( latin : Dioecesis Tambacundanus ) is an in Senegal preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Tambacounda . It covers the eastern part of Senegal.

history

Pope Paul VI founded the Apostolic Prefecture Tambacounda with the Apostolic Constitution Universae Christianorum on August 13, 1970 from ceding territories of the dioceses Kaolack and Saint-Louis du Sénégal .

On April 17, 1989 she was raised to the diocese with the Apostolic Constitution Permagno cum gaudio and it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Dakar as a suffragan diocese.
