Jean-Pierre Bassène

Jean-Pierre Bassène (born August 1, 1951 in Essyl , Senegal ) is a Senegalese clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Kolda .

Life

Jean-Pierre Bassène received on 11 April 1980, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On December 22, 1999, Pope John Paul II appointed him first bishop of the diocese of Kolda, which was established on the same date . The retired bishop of Ziguinchor , Augustin Sagna , donated him episcopal ordination on April 29, 2000 ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Abidjan , Bernard Agré , and the Archbishop of Conakry , Robert Sarah .

Pope Francis appointed him on August 5, 2017 for the duration of the Sedis vacancy, in addition to the Apostolic Administrator of Tambacounda .
