The Bistum Kolda ( latin : Dioecesis Koldaensis ) is an in Senegal preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Kolda . It includes the Kolda region and the Sédhiou region .

history

Pope John Paul II founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Nuper est petitum on December 22, 1999 from cession of territory by the diocese of Ziguinchor and it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Dakar as a suffragan diocese. Jean-Pierre Bassène was appointed first bishop .
