Please Please is a synth pop song by the Berlin band Die Ärzte . It's about BDSM and is the last single from the 1988 album That's not the whole truth ...

content

The peculiarity of the piece is that it is the doctors' last regular single before the five-year separation. At the end of each stanza, the phrase “From today on I belong to you alone”. The lyrics of the song are told from the point of view of a man who wants to confess his love to a woman by offering himself to her as a slave. Some types of BDSM are discussed , as can be seen in the song line “I can no longer be saved, whip me, put me in chains” . Other practices are listed in the dominatrix mix. Musically, the song clearly deviates from the otherwise punk-rock style of the band in the 1980s. With its synthesizer sounds and electronic drums, the song is similar to the synthpop and new wave popular in the 1980s .
