background

The former record company of Die Ärzte , CBS Schallplatten GmbH , which was taken over by Sony , was still entitled to a best-of album. The doctors were against releasing a best-of album at this time, but had to bend over and negotiated with the record company to make the song selection themselves. In return, they had to release three singles from the new album Die Bestie in Menschengestalt for the CD . "Close your eyes" was the only new single that was not included.

The album contains mostly songs from B-sides and maxi versions. In addition, some of the songs have mosquito - Sampler found space on the album. In addition to the double CD and MC, CBS also released a promo CD. On earlier editions of the album there is a yellow imprint “inkl. Quark '94 version + 4 new remixes “.

In the booklet of the album, Farin Urlaub and Bela B. explain some background information on the creation of all the songs (so-called liner notes).

Songs

  • The sample from the end of “Radio brennt” comes from the Schwarzenegger film Das Phantom Kommando .
  • The chainsaw noises in "For the Last Time" originally came from Bela's favorite movie Blood Dish in Texas .
  • If you play “Westerland (to the max)” backwards, the sentence “Women have breasts full of tits on Westerland” can be heard at around 6:30 minutes .
