Black Mark Production is a Swedish extreme metal label founded by Börje Forsberg .
history
The label was founded in 1991 by Börje Forsberg. Forsberg had been in the music business for 30 years. Black Mark Production initially had its headquarters in Berlin only , but later also settled in Stockholm , Toronto and New York . The label is now headquartered in Villa Hammerheart in Bruzaholm, Sweden . Initially only active in Europe, the label spreads further to the USA and Canada . The label's best-known bands include Edge of Sanity , Cemetary , Lake of Tears , Morgana Lefay , Necrophobic , Nightingale , Bathory , Oz , Memento Mori and Fleshcrawl . The band Bathory in particular has been closely associated with the label since it was founded. The head of the band, Quorthon , was the son of Börje Forsberg.
Forsberg, the founder of the label, died on September 14, 2017 after a long illness at the age of 73.
