Blanzac-Porcheresse is a village and a former French community with 747 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Angoulême and the Canton of Charente-Sud .

Blanzac-Porcheresse is located on the River Né , about 22 kilometers from Angoulême and is a junction in the network of departmental roads . The place borders in the north on Champagne-Vigny , in the northeast on Bécheresse , in the east on Pérignac , in the southeast on Saint-Léger , in the south on Cressac-Saint-Genis , in the southwest on Bessac and Saint-Aulais-la-Chapelle , im West with Péreuil and north-west with Aubeville .
history
The former municipality of Blanzac-Porcheresse was established in 1973 and at that time included the district of the previously independent municipality of Porcheresse as a Commune associée .
With effect from January 1, 2017, the former municipalities of Blanzac-Porcheresse and Cressac-Saint-Genis were merged to form the Commune nouvelle under the name of Côteaux du Blanzacais and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Blanzac-Porcheresse.
