The Blueberry River is about 20 miles long right tributary of the Shell River in northern Minnesota in the United States .

About the Shell River and Crow Wing River it is part of the catchment area of the Mississippi River and drains a rural area.

The name of the river is a translation of its name in the language of the Ojibwe .

geography

The Blueberry River rises in the Green Valley Township in the southeast of Becker County and flows in a southeast direction. It runs a short distance in southwest de Hubbard County and then enters northwest of Wadena County , where the Kettle River joins and it flows through the town of Menahga . It flows into Blueberry Lake of the Shell River in the Blueberry Township in Wadena County, about 3 km north of Menahga. The Blueberry River runs in the ecoregion of the northern lakes and forests, which is characterized by coniferous plants and hardwood forests and consists of flat ground moraine plains and undulating sand .
