Boaz Kiplagat Lalang (born February 8, 1989 in Marakwet District ) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner .

Life

He started at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and reached the semi-finals in the 800-meter run . In 2010 he qualified for participation in the World Indoor Championships in Doha . However, the Kenyan Athletics Association could not pay for his journey. Therefore, Lalang's manager James Templeton took over the costs. His investment paid off. Over the 800 meters, Lalang won the silver medal behind defending champion Abubaker Kaki .

At the Commonwealth Games 2010 in New Delhi Lalang won the gold medal in the 800-meter run and at the Pan-African Games 2011 in Maputo, the silver medal.

Boaz Lalang lives in the United States and attends Rend Lake College in Illinois .
