In student bands, especially with "Les Myopes" (the short-sighted people), he played on Thé Dansants in the "Stuff" before becoming a member of the Dax brothers' dance orchestra and leading his own band. He learned the double bass from Paul Deitz from the RTL Symphony Orchestra. After military service and the failure of his student career, he worked as a professional musician in the Johnny Glesener Trio. After two years he switched to the famous Jean Roderes Orchestra , which worked for radio and television, but also as a studio band. In 1966, Scholer accompanied the artists of the Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson in Luxembourg as a bassist .

Then he worked in Michel Pilz's trio with changing drummers, including Paul Lovens , Mani Neumeier and Fred Braceful . Then he began to play regularly with the saxophonist Kris Wanders from Antwerp , where he also performed with Fred Van Hove , Kees Hazevoet and Louis Moholo .

With Peter van de Locht , Boy Raaymakers and the Jamaican drummer Noel McGhee he performed at the Théâtre du Lucernaire in Paris . They then toured as Group Music International in Germany and Holland and in 1970 recorded the record "At different Times" with Burton Greene . During this time, Scholer played at several festivals, e.g. B. in Bilzen , in Ghent and in Châtellerault . For a short time he also played with Manfred Schoof's quintet .

Scholer later also recorded children's songs and Indian bhajans under the name Anashwaran .
