Bobby Ray Jones Jr. (born January 9, 1984 in Compton , California ) is an American basketball player .

Player career

Jones played for the University of Washington for four years . In 125 games he averaged 9.8 points and 4.9 rebounds . After the 2005-06 season, he was honored with an All Pacific-10 Honorable Mention . His 1,226 career points for Washington rank 20th on the school top list. In addition, he took fourth place in the steals (134).

Jones was originally selected 37th by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2006 NBA Draft . However, the rights to him were given by the Timberwolves to the Philadelphia 76ers (in exchange for a second-round draft pick for the 2007 NBA draft ), for whom he then played in the NBA in the 2006/07 season . He was briefly sent to the Fort Worth Flyers in the NBA D-League .

On September 10, 2007, Jones was given to the Denver Nuggets along with Steven Hunter . In return, Philadelphia received Reggie Evans and the draft rights to Ricky Sanchez . On January 7, 2008, Jones was released from the Nuggets.

After various 10-day contracts in the NBA ( Memphis Grizzlies , Houston Rockets , Miami Heat , San Antonio Spurs ) and some time in the D-League with the Sioux Falls Skyforce , Jones got another contract with the Denver on April 11th Nuggets , for which he started the 2007-08 season .

For the 2009/2010 season he moved to Europe to Teramo Basket . Since then he has played for various clubs in Italy.
