Boet van Gestel (born September 21, 1995 in Goirle ) is a Dutch ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Tilburg Trappers again since 2015 and has played with the club in the German Oberliga Nord since then .

Career

Club

Boet van Gestel, who comes from the neighboring municipality of Goirle in Tilburg , began his career with the Tilburg Trappers , for whom he still plays today. First he was used in the second team, the "Toekomstteam", in the second-class Eerste divisie . As a 17-year-old, he made his debut in the first team in the 2012/13 season in the honor division . In 2014 he won the Dutch championship title with the Trappers . In 2013 and 2014 he won the Dutch cup competition with the team from the province of North Brabant . After these successes he moved to league rivals Eindhoven Kemphanen . When his exclusive club moved to the German Oberliga Nord , he returned to Tilburg. In the league, the Trappers took second place behind the Füchsen Duisburg in their first season . With play-off victories against the Hannover Scorpions , the EV Landshut and the EC Peiting , they reached the final of the Oberliga championship, which was won by a 3-0 final series against EHC Bayreuth . In 2017 and 2018 he was able to win the Oberliga championship with the Trappers.

International

For the Netherlands, van Gestel took part in the Division II games of the U18 World Championships in 2012 and 2013 and the U20 World Championships in 2014 and 2015 .

In the men's national team , van Gesten played for the first time at the 2014 World Cup in Division I. In 2015 , he was also on the ice for the Dutch in Division I. After relegation in 2015, he played with his team in Division II in 2016 , where he immediately rose again. After the Dutch were relegated again without van Gestel in 2017, he succeeded again in direct promotion at the World Cup of Division II in 2018 .
