Bogislaw Friedrich von Dönhoff (born December 6, 1669 in Königsberg , † December 24, 1742 in Dönhoffstädt ) was a Prussian major general .

Count Bogislaw Friedrich von Dönhoff came from the Dönhoff family and was a son of Count Friedrich von Dönhoff († 1696) and Countess Eleonore Katharina Elisabeth von Schwerin († 1696). He was married to Countess Sophie Charlotte von Lehndorff since May 8, 1701 (* March 20, 1685 at Steinort Castle , † February 19, 1754 in Dönhoffstädt). This marriage gave birth to 13 children, including:

Life

In 1690 Bogislaw Friedrich was a lieutenant colonel in the Barfus Regiment , took part in the Great Turkish War and was therefore also involved in the Battle of Slankamen . On April 14, 1698 Dönhoff was promoted to colonel and was now in the Jung-Dohna regiment as such . He was promoted to major general on February 12, 1705 and received care on February 14, 1708.

Count Bogislaw Friedrich von Dönhoff had the baroque residence Dönhofstädt built in 1710–1716 according to plans by Jean de Bodt . The castle served his family as the eponymous ancestral seat until his death. The baroque castle Dönhofstädt has been preserved, but has been empty for many years.
