Imbert Rollaz du Rosey (* 1640 , baptized on January 25, 1657 in Rolle ; † March 19, 1704 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general and heir to Rosey, Heinersdorf , Hackenau ( Lebus district ; also: Hackenow), Behlendorf (Lebus district ) and Schönwalde .

Life

origin

Imbert was the son of Guillaume Rollaz, who became lord of Rosey in 1658, and his wife Magdalene, née von Steiger.

Military career

Rosey joined Kurbrandenburg in 1681 and fought against the Turks in Hungary. In 1690 he was a colonel and adjutant general of Elector Friedrich III. In July 1690 he was on an important diplomatic mission in Brussels , where he met the Prince of Waldeck , the Marquis of Castanaga , that of Degenfeld and the councilor Anthonie Heinsius .

In July 1691 Rosey asked for a transfer to the army on the Rhine, which was also granted. On May 28, 1692 he went as a diplomat from Wesel to the King of England and at the end of July 1692 to the Bishop of Munster . He had promised to provide several thousand men on horseback and 2000 men on foot for the allied army. When the French ambassador traveled between Hanover and Leipzig , Rollaz was commissioned to accompany him. Since Brandenburg and France were at war, the latter had the order to arrest the ambassador immediately if he should enter the Electorate of Brandenburg . On December 28, 1692 Rosey became the commander of the Kurprinz regiment on horseback .

In 1697 Rosey was entrusted with the recruitment and deployment of the Swiss Guard , which he headed as captain. In 1703 he was appointed major general.

He died in 1704 and was buried in the vault of the Parochial Church in Berlin.
