The center of the old place in the Sahel is on a hill. In the valley in front of the city center there are several Hausa villages. The municipality is divided into seven districts - Bouza, Bouza Gabass, Bouza Koré, Bouza (Kwaré), Dan Dabi (Quartier), Dougouna and Tchégoumaoua - as well as a rural area with 47 villages and 55 hamlets. The larger rural villages include Garadoumé and Madetta . The neighboring communities of Bouzas are Babankatami , Déoulé and Tabotaki in the north, Karofane in the east, Madaoua and Azarori in the south and Tama in the west.

history

Bouza became the capital of the Bouza district in 1960, the year Niger became independent, from which the Bouza district emerged in 1964 and the Bouza department in 1998.

The population consists of Hausa, Tuareg and Fulbe . At the 1977 census, Bouza had 5,290 people, at the 1988 census 5,496 people and at the 2001 census 6,825 people. At the 2012 census, after enlarging the municipal area, the population was 101,445.

Culture and sights

In the center of the village is a mosque of unknown year of construction. It is in a good state of preservation (as of 1986). The entire complex of the mosque, built according to the central Sudanese model with a domed roof , extends over 58 square meters. It has a prayer room building designed as a longitudinal system (with flat roof and central dome). The mihrab -Vorbau is cuboid, the outer walls are divided. There is an Adhān platform on the south side . Pointed battlements are enthroned above the entrances and on the roof corners .

Economy and Infrastructure

The economic cornerstones of the city are agriculture, livestock and trade. The place has a weekly market. The Garadoumé dam was built near the village of Garadoumé in 1968 . Bouza is the seat of a Tribunal d'Instance, one of the 30 civil courts nationwide , which are below the ten civil courts of the first instance (Tribunal de Grande Instance). The city is located on National Road 16 , which connects the town with the regional capital Tahoua .
