Brandan Keith Wright (born October 5, 1987 in Nashville , Tennessee ) is a retired American basketball player who was active in the NBA from 2007 to 2018 .
Career
After just one year at college, Wright was selected by the Charlotte Bobcats in 8th place in the 2007 NBA draft and transferred to the Golden State Warriors on draft night for Jason Richardson and second-round pick Jermareo Davidson . With them he completed only 38 games in his first season due to a hip injury. On October 14, 2009, he extended his contract with the Warriors until the end of the 2010/11 season. He missed the entire 2009/2010 season because of a shoulder injury that caused him to undergo an operation.
In late February, Wright was sent to the New Jersey Nets with Dan Gadzuric for Troy Murphy and a second-round draft pick . On December 9, 2011, he finally signed a contract with the Dallas Mavericks. On December 19, 2014, Brandan Wright was transferred to the Boston Celtics , along with Jameer Nelson and Jae Crowder , for Rajon Rondo and Dwight Powell .
Since the Celtics found no use for Wright, they gave him to the Phoenix Suns on January 9, 2015 . In the summer of 2015, Wright went without a contract and signed with the Memphis Grizzlies . There he played until February 2018. Then he was active for about a month for the Houston Rockets .
