Jermareo Davidson (born November 15, 1984 in Atlanta , Georgia ) is an American basketball player . After starting his career in the highest-endowed professional league, the NBA , Davidson continued his career, particularly in Europe, and was under contract with the German first division club Fraport Skyliners in the 2011/12 Bundesliga .

Career

Davidson joined in 2003 by Wheeler High School to study at the University of Alabama , where he worked for the college team Crimson Tide in the Southeastern Conference of the NCAA played Division I. In his first year as a " freshman " the team was in the national finals of the NCAA overcome two higher-ranked teams, and in the even Elite Eight -called Regional Final move, where to the later NCAA champion Huskies of the University of Connecticut defeated. After two more finals, where you were eliminated early, you missed in Davidson's senior year 2007, the sixth finals of the Crimson Tide in a row.

In the 2007 NBA Draft, Davidson was selected in the second round of Golden State Warriors, who immediately passed their rights on to the Charlotte Bobcats in a player swap. In his " rookie " season with the Bobcats Davidson came to 38 appearances with less than ten minutes of use per game. Davidson also had six missions this season with the then Bobcats " farm team " Sioux Falls Skyforce in the NBA Development League (D-League). For the 2008/09 season, Davidson was signed by their league rivals Idaho Stampede in the D-League. After 15 missions he got from the Golden State Warriors, who had originally selected him in the Entry Draft , in January 2009 a contract until the end of the season and completed another 14 missions in the NBA for this team. But even with the Warriors, he could not recommend himself for a long-term commitment.

Davidson therefore completed the 2009/10 season in Europe and played in Istanbul for Darüşşafaka SK in the Türkiye Basketbol Ligi . However, this team ended the season as bottom of the table and rose from the top national division again. After a detour in the summer league Baloncesto Superior Nacional on Puerto Rico with a commitment for the caciques from Humacao , he returned to Europe for the 2010/11 season and played in Russia for Krasnye Krylja from Samara . However, he left this club after a few missions and returned to the Idaho Stampede in the D-League. In that season, however, he did not receive a "call-up" from the NBA and ended the season at the Stampede.

For the basketball Bundesliga 2011/12 Davidson then received a contract with the German first division club Fraport Skyliners from Frankfurt am Main . After a weak start to the season, in which Davidson was absent from the pre-season due to an injury, the Skyliners missed the play-offs for the German championship at the end of the season. After the contract was not renewed, Davidson moved again to Turkey in early December 2012, where he played on the south coast for Antalya BSB, which were only slightly more successful than his first Turkish club Darüşşafaka SK. After almost three months, Antalya was still at the bottom of the table at the end of February 2013 and the contract with Davidson was terminated after eleven missions.

He has recently been aiming for a career as a rapper under the pseudonym Jayo. His crew is known under the name MakeWay , especially in the greater Frankfurt area.
