Brandon Dietrich (born March 22, 1978 in Waterloo , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who last played for the Ice Pirates Crimmitschau in the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey as a striker .

Career

Dietrich began his career at St. Lawrence University , where he played in the NCAA from 1998 to 2000 . In the following two seasons he went first for Hartford Wolf Pack in the American Hockey League and later for the Charlotte Checkers in the East Coast Hockey League on the ice. In the 2002/03 season he played in the AHL for the Manchester Monarchs and in the ECHL for the Reading Royals . The 2003/04 season Dietrich spent in the ECHL with the Gwinnett Gladiators , with whom he failed in the playoffs at the Idaho Steelheads .

In the summer of 2004 he signed a contract with ESV Kaufbeuren in the 2nd Bundesliga, where he was instrumental in keeping his team up with 64 scorer points. Then the Landshut Cannibals became aware of him and signed the striker for the 2005/06 season . With 77 points Dietrich was one of the best scorers in the league. He started the 2006/07 season at EHC Biel in the Swiss National League B before returning to Germany in the middle of the season and playing for the Eisbären Regensburg . In the following season Dietrich returned to Landshut. With the Cannibals he reached the playoff final, which his team lost in the decisive fifth game against the later DEL promoted Kassel Huskies .

In the 2012/13 season Dietrich initially played for HC Thurgau in the Swiss National League B . From the beginning of January the experienced striker scored points with the Eispiraten Crimmitschau . The Hanover Indians and the EVR Towerstars had also tried to serve the striker.
