The Brebeneskul ( Ukrainian Бребенескул , Russian Бребенескуль , Polish Brebeneskuł ) is the second highest mountain in Ukraine after the Hoverla at 2038 m .
The domed mountain has alpine and subalpine vegetation and bears traces of frost weathering . It is located on the Chornohora mountain range in the Carpathian Forest on the border of the Transcarpathian Oblast and the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast in the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve .
Brebeneskul lake
The highest lake in Ukraine lies at an altitude of 1801 m . The Brebeneskul lake is up to 2.8 m deep and has an oval-shaped surface of about 0.4 ha .
