Pip Ivan ( Ukrainian Піп Іван - even Піп Іван Чорногорський Pip Ivan Tschornohorski ; Russian Поп Иван Pop Ivan - Pop's "priest") is 2,028  m after Howerla and Brebeneskul the third highest mountain in the Chornohora -Gebirges in the Eastern Carpathians in the Western Ukraine .

The current name of the mountain comes from a rock on the summit that used to look like a priest in his cassock . Since there was a pagan temple on the mountain in ancient times, the mountain is a popular destination on Ivan Kupala Day . The mountain is a natural monument within the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve . The best way to get to the top is through the village of Dzembronja .

On the top is still the ruins of the Polish until 1938 time in 1936 in the style of Constructivism built Biały Słoń - Observatory , which was in operation from 1938 to 1,941th It was the highest building in Poland that was permanently occupied.
