Brigade S (also Brigade S. ) is a punk rock band from Wanne-Eickel , Herne, founded in 1999 .
history
The band was founded in 1999 and initially covered bands as diverse as GG Allin , sphincter , Agnostic Front , 4-Skins and local heroes . The letter S in the name of the band stands for "Public Enemy". The name was derived from the TKKG radio play, episode 26: The hostage drama, where a left-wing terrorist group called "Brigade Public Enemy" was active. In order not to be confused with a German punk band from the 1980s, the name was shortened.
The band released their single ... von'ne Straße in 2001 under their own label Brigade Records and they also produced it themselves.
Then Teenage Rebel Records signed the band and released the two albums Aso-Pack (2003) and Inhuman Underground Music (2005). At the latter, Wolfgang Wendland from Die Kassierer and Riedel from Alpha Boy School are represented as guests . The title track is a cover version of Funny van Dannen . The band has been under contract with the Sunny Bastards label since 2007 . The album Brigade Staatsfeind was released there in 2008 .
In 2009 Turbobuben was released as a double CD for the band's tenth anniversary. In addition to the regular album, there is a bonus CD with cover versions of friendly bands on the album. Among others, Pöbel & Gesocks , Emscherkurve 77 and Melanie & The Secret Army are represented there.
In 2013 the so far last album Kleine Lichter - Großer Sport was released . In the run-up to this, bassist and founding member Bernd quit, who initially only required a baby break, but then decided not to be part of the band anymore. In the meantime, the other members had swapped instruments and formed a hardcore punk band called Settle Old Scores with new drummer Marco. This then became the official line-up of Brigade S.
Music genre
Musically, Brigade S. is a simple punk rock with relatively simple texts "free snout", which are not necessarily politically correct. In addition, a certain local patriotism is recognizable for the origin from Wanne-Eickel. Comparable bands include local heroes, Pöbel & Gesocks and Eisenpimmel .
