Steve Potvin (born September 26, 1974 in Montreal , Québec ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who has played for the Iserlohn Roosters and Augsburger Panther in the German Ice Hockey League during his active career . In the 1990s he was also active as a professional inline hockey player in the North American Roller Hockey International .
Career
Steve Potvin began his career in 1991 in the Ontario Hockey League with the Sudbury Wolves . After failing in the semi-finals of the play-offs , he moved to league rivals Niagara Falls Thunder after three years .
The Canadian made his professional debut in the 1994/95 season in the International Hockey League , when he played four games for the Peoria Rivermen . The following two seasons Potvin was mainly active in the East Coast Hockey League for the Raleigh IceCaps , but also came to 21 games in the American Hockey League for three different teams. From 1997 to 1999 he played for the Hamilton Bulldogs in the AHL. The winger then moved to Europe and joined the Iserlohner EC , for which he was also active for a year after the DEL promotion. After a short stay in Switzerland with EHC Basel , Potvin signed with IF Björklöven in Sweden in 2002 . It was followed by three more years in Scandinavia , which he spent exclusively in the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan .
For the 2005/06 season , the left shooter signed with the Augsburg Panthers from the German Ice Hockey League . In the next season he was then active for Södertälje SK . In 2007 Potvin moved to the Herning Blue Fox in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen . There he was able to win the championship with his team. The Canadian ended his career at the Arizona Sundogs in the Central Hockey League from 2009 to 2010 .
