Brockhausen is a district of Vorhalle in the city of Hagen ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

Brockhausen is located at the southern foot of the Kaisberg in the city triangle Wetter (Ruhr) , Herdecke and Hagen. The Hagen-Vorhalle marshalling yard separates Brockhausen from the Vorhaller town center. A large area of the district is composed of the almost 100 ha large conservation area Werdringen / Kaisberg .

history

Brockhausen was mentioned for the first time in 1229 as Bruchusen in the goods and income register of the women's convent and later the noble women's convent of Herdecke . Brockhausen formerly belonged to the peasantry Vorhalle and in the parish and court of Hagen to the county of Mark . In the treasure book of Grafschaft Mark from 1486 in Vorhelder Burschop , a Steven to Broyckhusen with a tax of ½ Gg and a Hynrich to Broyckhusen with 2 gold guilders are named among the 19 taxable farm owners .

The moated castle Werdringen , founded in the 13th century , a noble seat of the Lords of Volmarstein , is located west of Brockhausen. The Museum of Prehistory and Early History is located there today.
