Brooke Borg

Brooke Borg , also known as Brooke , (born October 27, 1992 in Mġarr ) is a Maltese pop singer and songwriter . She competed several times in the Maltese preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest .

Life

Brooke Borg grew up with her older brother Brandon in Malta, through whom she found her way to music. She was interested in singing, acting and music from an early age. As a child she received ballet and jazz dance lessons as well as singing lessons, and then piano lessons. With her brother she had since she was four years in One TV telecasts Kikki Riki , Hip Hip Hurrey , Waw and in the PBS broadcasts bieb il-Bum Bum and Kidz Kwizz occurred. At the age of six she was allowed to host the show Little Ones on the Maltese channel One TV . Since childhood she has participated in several shows and music competitions, first in Malta and Italy, and later internationally.

In 2003 Brooke and her brother took part in the Maltese preliminary round for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2003 .

At the end of 2004 she founded the dance group Glitz with her friends Alana Paola Bondin, Anthea Dimech, Zoe Camilleri and Bernice Parnis , which she accompanied during their performance with Maz-Zifna tat-Tfal in the 2005 Maltese youth singing competition L-Għanja tal-Poplu - Żgħażagħ . The music for the winning title written by her brother was composed by Doreen Cardinali.

At the age of 17 she went to London, where she took singing lessons from Joshua Alamu . During her time in London she sang at Half Moon in Putney , the O2 Academy Festival, indigO2 , Proud Camden and Ronnie Scott’s, among others . In 2010 she sang the song Echo with Tony Maiello at several events. Joshua Alamu produced the music video with her in Los Angeles in 2012 for her song Fairytale , which ran on the Maltese radio and reached the top 10 of the Maltese single charts. In Los Angeles she also sang in the famous music and night club Troubadour .

After returning to Malta, she won the 2013 Malta Music Awards in the category “Best Solo Artist”.

Brooke Borg first applied for the ESC at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016 . With her song Golden she qualified for the final, where she was second behind Ira Losco with 58 points .

The next year she took part in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with Unstoppable and finished fourth with 2000 points at the event, from which Claudia Faniello emerged as the winner.

She dared a third attempt in 2018 at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2018 , where she achieved third place with Heart of Gold with 84 points in Christabelle Borg's victory.
