Hans Brosamer (* 1495 in Fulda ; † 1554 in Erfurt ) was a German painter , engraver , shape cutter and draftsman .

Hans Brosamer stayed in Nuremberg from 1519 to 1529, where portraits of Nuremberg citizens were made. Around 1536 to 1550 at the princely court in Fulda , later resident in Erfurt. He belongs to the school of Lucas Cranach the Elder , but is also influenced by Albrecht Dürer . Numerous copper engravings and woodcuts by Brosamer are known, which appeared in many printing works of that time. Luther's Wittenberg Bible from 1550 should also be mentioned. He also published a woodcut art book containing templates for goldsmiths . Paintings by Brosamer are rare. He usually signed with the monogram "HB".

Portrait of Hans Durr, signed with the monogr. "HB" and dated 1521 as well as the portrait of Sebolt Schwartz signed and dated 1523. Both paintings were formerly in the collection of the German imperial family. They were wedding gifts from the emperor to the first prince of Eulenburg-Hertefeld.

Other secured works by Brosamer are the portraits of Hans Pirkel the Elder. J. von 1520, Jochum Wirman from 1521, Andreas Imhoff , Johannes von Otthera from 1536 and portrait of a young man .
