Bruce Geller

Bruce Geller (born October 13, 1930 in New York , † May 21, 1978 in Santa Barbara , California ) was an American screenwriter , film producer and film director .

Life

Geller graduated from Yale University with a bachelor's degree and began his career writing scripts for the DuMont Television Network, among others . In 1961 he joined the US collecting society ASCAP in and composed by Gene De Paul for the Off-Broadway - musicals Living the Life and All in Love , but which only less been successful. He then moved to Hollywood , where he wrote screenplays for series episodes, including Flash Gordon and West of Santa Fe . From the mid-1960s, he also worked as an executive producer on A Thousand Miles of Dust . In 1966 he created the television series Kobra Take Over , for which he received two Emmy awards and which he was also involved in as a producer. The following year he developed the series Mannix , for which he was nominated twice for an Emmy. In 1973 he was the director and producer of the feature film Harry the Long Fingers, starring James Coburn and Walter Pidgeon .

Geller was killed in an accident on the morning of May 21, 1978 when his Cessna Skymaster crashed near Santa Barbara.
