Bruce Sinofsky

Bruce Jeffrey Sinofsky (born March 31, 1956 in Boston , Massachusetts , † February 21, 2015 in Montclair , New Jersey ) was an American director and producer of documentaries .

Life

Sinofsky studied at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University until his graduation in 1978 . He then began his film career as an editor at Maysles Films . Since 1991 he was married to Florence Sinofsky . Sinofsky died on February 21, 2015 of complications from his diabetes . He leaves five children.

He often worked with Joe Berlinger . At the 2012 Academy Awards , he was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Documentary category for directing Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory together with Joe Berlinger . He is also an Emmy recipient for his work on Paradise Lost - The Child Murders in Robin Hood Hills (1996). He was nominated for three more Emmys for the three parts of his Paradise Lost trilogy.
