geography

course

The Brunnenbach rises at an altitude of about 339  m above sea level. NHN in a coniferous forest on the western slope of the Birkertkopf ( 348  m above sea level ) east of Hofgut Luisenlust in the Gelnhaar district .

It initially flows in a south-westerly direction past the former Reimertsholz opencast mine , then crosses under the L 3183 and then runs through grassland on the southern edge of the Küchwald forest . South of the Schönberg ( 341.6  m above sea level ) it is fed by two small inlets.

It now moves through meadows and pastures, then passes the Ortenberg district of Usenborn and finally flows east of Ortenberg - Bergheim directly next to the Bleichtalhof at an altitude of about 201  m above sea level. NHN and from the right into the Bleichenbach .

Its 6.5 km long run ends about 138 meters below its source, so it has an average bottom gradient of about 21 ‰.
