Bruno Ehrich

Alois Joseph Bruno Ehrich (born May 23, 1861 in Ratibor , Silesia ; † December 6, 1947 in Kempen am Niederrhein ) was a German history painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Ehrich studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1878 to 1890/1891 . There were Andreas and Karl Müller , Heinrich Lauenstein , Peter Janssen the Elder. Ä. , Adolf Schill , Julius Roeting and Eduard Gebhardt his teachers. With his friend Wilhelm Döringer he worked together on the design of numerous church buildings until 1908. Ehrich, who, like Döringer and other students of Professors Müller and Gebhardt, was one of the late Nazarenes at the Düsseldorf School and who lived in Düsseldorf until 1944, then in Kempen, was a member of the Malkasten artists' association from 1909 to 1940 .
