Bruno Leicht

Bruno Leicht (born September 11, 1962 in Karlsruhe ) is a German jazz trumpeter and composer of film music.

Live and act

Leicht attended the music school of the Regensburger Domspatzen and studied from 1985 to 1990 at the Cologne University of Music with Manfred Schoof and Jiggs Whigham . He also worked with his own formations; his band The Streetfighters included Axel Dörner , Jan Roder , Joscha Oetz , Michael Griener and Jochen Rückert . With his formation Brew Lite's Free Lights (with Christian Ramond , Klaus Kugel , Andreas Wagner and Nils Tegen, among others ) he moves on the fringes of new music , jazz and freely improvised form . Leicht also works with the band Brew Lite's Madhattan Four (including Martin Sasse , Christian Ramond, Marcus Rieck , Allan Praskin , Matthias Schubert , Walter Gauchel , Uli Jenneßen ), who interpret seldom played works from the Great American Songbook , as well as swinging ones humorous original compositions with numerous autobiographical or other extra-musical references ( Die Fußball Suite , A Day In Bay-In-Valley , 2 X's 12 Bars For 12 Years , Ballad Of The Big 15 ).

Leicht also composed music for various documentaries and is a jazz prize winner from the city of Mannheim . He lives as a freelance jazz musician and music teacher in Cologne . He teaches at the Open Jazz House School Cologne and the Music School Bonn.
