Bryan Rodney (born April 22, 1984 in London , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with HC Bozen in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League .
Career
Bryan Rodney began his career as a hockey player in Canada's top junior league, Ontario Hockey League , where he played for the Ottawa 67’s , Kingston Frontenacs and London Knights from 2002 to 2005 . With the London Knights he first won the J. Ross Robertson Cup in the 2004/05 season and then the Memorial Cup , for which the Knights had qualified as OHL champions.
In the summer of 2005, the defender moved to the Charlotte Checkers from the ECHL , for their cooperation partner , the Hartford Wolf Pack , he scored three points in eight games in the 2005/06 season . During the following season, the right-shooter moved to the Checkers' league rivals, the Columbia Inferno . During the 2007/08 season Rodney was signed by the Carolina Hurricanes , for whom he was two assists in the National Hockey League in eight games in the 2008/09 season . As in the previous year, the Canadian spent the rest of the season with their AHL farm team Albany River Rats . After the relocation of the River Rats, the defender was in the 2010/11 season for their successor Charlotte Checkers as team captain on the ice and finished the season with 38 assists and 47 points as the most successful defensive player of the Checkers.
On July 5, 2011 Rodney signed a contract for one year with the Anaheim Ducks , which used him exclusively on the farm team at the Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League. In February 2012, the Anaheim Ducks transferred him to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for attacker Ryan O'Marra . In July 2013, he received a contract with the Nashville Predators and was subsequently used exclusively for the Milwaukee Admirals in the AHL.
