Buffy the Vampire Killer is an American horror comedy directed by Fran Rubel Kuzui from 1992 . The series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar as the leading actress, started in 1997 and ran for seven years.

According to a long tradition, in every generation a young girl is chosen to protect those around her from demons and vampires : the huntress. Higher powers give this girl supernatural powers for this fight. Guardian Merrick brings the news to high school student Buffy that she is the Slayer, the Chosen One. She is instructed in various martial arts and vampirism by her guardian in order to take up the fight against the vampire lord Lothos. Buffy makes the transition from cheerleader to slayer.
