The Bullrun Rally is an annual US car race with a conspiratorial character with 100 super sports cars and drivers from all over the world. The powerful luxury sports cars compete against each other in a kind of rally for seven days . They cover between 5,000 and 6,500 kilometers. The Bullrun route changes every year, but always takes place within North America .

The event

Bullrun Rally (2009)

The Bullrun Rally , in German (literally): Bullenrennen Rallye, is a car rally that took place largely in secret due to many, also deliberate, speed violations, which started for the first time in June 2004 and led from Hollywood ( California ) to Miami in Florida . The, at least official, goal of this event is, as is customary in rallies, not to drive faster than permitted - especially since it usually takes place on public roads - but to have fun driving together and working through navigation points. Nevertheless, speed violations (not sanctioned by the organizers) occur again and again. The routes are not announced in advance, which underlines the conspiratorial character and should not call the regulatory authorities to the scene. New participants only come in through a recommendation from a previous Bullrun driver or have to apply directly in order to go through an "unknown" selection process, in which a valid driver's license and insurance must always be presented. The entry fee is US $ 20,000. Asian, European and domestic cars are on display at every stop at clubs, dealerships or restaurants. Bullrun events take place in an informal setting and offer the public an opportunity to take a closer look at the impressive vehicles and to exchange ideas with the owners.

history

The first event in 2004 drew 100 luxury sports cars from around the world and media attention. The success of this first rally was picked up by Spike TV in 2007 and a series called "Bullrun Reality Show" was produced. However, the rules for the TV recordings were tightened and the racers among the participants were disqualified for the public. Outside the camera area, however, fines and driver arrests are quite common. In 2010, the bullrun completely returned to its roots and relaxed the rules.
