The castle near Albrechtice ( Hrad u Albrechtic in Czech ), also known as Hausberk , Hausberg , Alberk , Alburk or Alberg , is a former castle complex on the southern roof of the Ore Mountains in Northern Bohemia in the Černice district of the Horní Jiřetín municipality in Okres Most , Czech Republic. Her original name is unknown; the name Alberg , which was adopted at the end of the 19th century, is historically incorrect, Hausberg is just the name of the spur.

history

There are no written reports about the castle or its owners. In archaeological research, the most recent finds could be dated to the first half of the 14th century.

The castle was probably built in the second half of the 13th century. It is believed that it was last owned by the Lords of Rvenice . Nevlas von Rvenice, who has been the owner of the nearby villages of Albrechtice and Strupčice since 1354 , had the new Eisenberg Castle built between 1363 and 1365 . Durdík assumes that the castle near Albrechtice lost its importance with the completion of the Eisenberg castle and was abandoned.

At the end of the 19th century, Sedláček mistakenly saw the deserted medieval castle on the local mountain as the extinct Renaissance permanent alberg. The Alberg Fortress, first mentioned in 1565, was only built in the middle of the 16th century by Georg Hochhauser von Hochhaus and was probably located in the village of Albrechtice ( Ulbersdorf ).

investment

The castle complex consisted of the core castle with keep and main building as well as two outer castles . From the keep, which had a diameter of 10 meters and a wall thickness of 3 to 4 meters, a rubble mound with a tower stump has been preserved. Nothing is visible of the main building behind the tower. There is a square hole in the floor, which is interpreted either as a cistern or a cellar entrance. The tower, presumably also the entire inner castle, was surrounded by a mighty semicircular mantle wall with a thickness of two meters. The rising corners of the former bulwarks and the associated trenches are clearly visible. The remains of the castle are made of beech forest.
