Burkhard Feige
Burkhard Feige (* 1972 in Hechingen , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German film director and screenwriter .
Life
Burkhard Feige grew up in Tübingen . During a one-year stay in the United States, he graduated from East Coweta High School, then graduated from the Tübingen Free Waldorf School . After his community service he studied philosophy , law and rhetoric at the local Eberhard-Karls-University . From 1993 to 1997 he was also the guitarist of the Tübingen ska and reggae band Court Jester's Crew.
After completing an intermediate examination at the University of Tübingen, he began studying directing in the field of feature and documentary film at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF) in 1996 . From 1997 to 2000 he also worked as an author for the regional feature section of the Süddeutsche Zeitung . From 2002 to 2007 he also taught at the Mediadesign Hochschule München and Berlin and the Macromedia Hochschule für Medien und Kommunikation Munich in the areas of dramaturgy, editing and directing.
After several short and documentary films as well as some commercials at the HFF, a year as a CVD at the Munich company Blue Eyes followed. Burkhard Feige has been working as a freelance director and screenwriter since around 2002. His graduation film Solo has been shown at numerous international festivals and has won several awards. His first feature film UFO with Julia Brendler in the leading role was made as part of the SWR series Debut in the Third and was premiered at the Max Ophüls Preis 2010 film festival. In 2011 Burkhard Feige received the Grimme Prize for the screenplay for the KI.KA production Schnitzeljagd im Heiligen Land .
