C. Delores Tucker (also C. DeLores Tucker , * as Cynthia DeLores Nottage on October 4, 1927 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ; † October 12, 2005 in Norristown , Pennsylvania) was an American politician and civil rights activist .

At the age of 16, Delores Tucker was actively involved in the Afro-American civic movement. She protested outside a hotel in Philadelphia, in which black athletes were not allowed to stay as guests. She remained loyal to the citizens' movement and took part in the famous March on Washington in 1963 alongside Martin Luther King . In the 1970s, she was considered the first woman in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) civil rights movement . In 1970 she was Vice President of the Democrats in Pennsylvania and Vice President of the NAACP in Pennsylvania. From 1971 to 1977 she was the successor to Joseph Kelley as Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In 1980 she applied for her party's nomination for the US Senate elections , but only came third in the Democratic primary with 7.42 percent. In 1984 she founded the National Political Congress of Black Women . In 1992 she narrowly missed the Democratic nomination for the US House of Representatives elections .

In the mid-1990s she found a new field of activity and was to become particularly well known, especially in the USA. In 1994 she protested against Tupac Shakur's nomination for a NAACP award, where she was actually a member. In a well-known interview with the Philadelphia Inquirer in the same year, she stated that she was “ ready to go to jail, ready to die, whatever is necessary to stop this pornographic filth ”. She really seemed to want to carry out this consistent attitude. She was arrested several times for her protests in front of record stores. With these actions she rose to become a hate figure in the rap scene. Above all, Tupac Shakur attacked them on his part in his texts. A 10 million dollar lawsuit against the obscene use of her name in one of his songs (" How Do U Want It " on the album All Eyez on Me ; Tupac Shakur raps in it: " Delores Tucker you're a motherfucker / Instead of trying to help a nigga you destroy a brother. ") was dismissed by the court. However, she used her influence, so that Time Warner dropped the gangster rap label Death Row and its CEO Suge Knight . She even threatened Knight that he should give her the label, otherwise he would go to jail, with which she directed his methods against him. The rapper Eminem also attacked Tucker in one of his songs. In “ Rap Game ” he raps “ I'm all for America, fuck the government / Tell that C. Delores Tucker slut to suck a dick / Motherfucker ducked, what the fuck? Son of a bitch / Take away my gun, I'm gonna tuck some other shit ". C. Delores Tucker died in 2005 in a retirement home in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
