CBBC is the BBC 's children's program . It aired as a regular program on BBC One from September 9, 1985 . Since February 11, 2002, CBBC has been broadcast as a separate station and is aimed at children aged 4 to 12. For younger children there is a sister channel with CBeebies .

CBBC was named "Channel of the Year" by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in November 2008 .
