Bruno Magalhães (born July 10, 1980 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese rally driver .
Career
Bruno Magalhães started rallying in 1999. In 2000 he made his debut at the Rally Portugal in a round of the World Rally Championship . In the following years he took part in several Portuguese rallies, which included the national championship and in some cases also the European rally championship . From 2002 his co-driver was Paulo Grave .
From 2005 Magalhães started for Peugeot Sport Portugal in the Peugeot 206 S1600 . He achieved overall victory in the Portuguese championship in the Super 1600 class in 2006 . He also finished fourth at the Rali Vinho da Madeira in the newly established Intercontinental Rally Challenge . From 2007 he drove a more powerful Peugeot 207 S2000 . At the Rali Vinho da Madeira, he reached second place, which he achieved for the first time a podium in the IRC. In the same year he also won the Portuguese rally championship . After starting the 2008 season with co-driver Mario Castro , his brother Carlos Magalhães became his new co-driver halfway through the season . Bruno Magalhães achieved his second Portuguese league title in 2008. He continued to take part in a few races of the IRC and finished in the points in two rallies. At the Rali Vinho da Madeira in 2009, he was beaten by just a few seconds and finished second again. He also won the Portuguese championship for the third time in a row.
Magalhães now regularly contested rallies in the IRC in 2010 in a Peugeot 207 S2000 from Peugeot Sport Portugal . In the first half of the season he didn't get any podium positions, but he consistently managed to get into the points. He celebrated his first victory in the IRC at the Rallye Açores . At the end of the season, he finished fifth in the drivers' championship. In 2011 he started his second season with a program of regular appearances on the IRC. His former co-driver Paulo Grave was again the co-driver. At the 2011 Rally Portugal Magalhães made another guest start in the World Rally Championship and achieved his best WRC result to date with twelfth overall. He was the best-placed driver with a Super 2000 car.
