action

Paul, the survivor from the first part, wakes up heavily marked by the plague and wanders through a forest. When he comes to a street, he is hit by a school bus and killed. Police officer Winston examines the torn corpse. Since this is mutilated beyond recognition, he does not recognize that it is a human being and takes the corpse for an elk . With this thesis he can reassure the bus driver and ask him to drive the children to school now.

The school is currently preparing for the school ball, but friends John and Alex want to stay away from it. When John accompanies his long-time school friend Cassie home that afternoon, he asks her out on a date, but she declines due to lack of time. In the evening, Alex calls him and reports that he has changed his mind and is attending the school ball. John agrees and goes to school. When Deputy Winston observed the collapse and death of a truck driver from the mineral water company "Down Home Water" in a diner , who suffers from the typical symptoms of the disease, he makes his way to the premises of "Down Home Water". There he meets the night watchman Toby, with whose help he can sift through some files. When the two notice the approach of heavy SUVs, Winston does everything to get out of the way and orders Toby to tell the people in the SUV about the contaminated water. When Toby tries to do this, he is shot.

In the meantime, a punch is prepared at school with the contaminated water, in which the caretaker pees blood because he has already contracted the disease. John and Alex have meanwhile arrived at the ball where John meets Cassie. She is now with Marc. There is an argument between John and Marc, which is ended by the school principal. John is expelled from school. In a rage he storms out of the building, Cassie chases him and John confesses his love to Cassie. Now the men appear here with their off-road vehicles. They work for the government and wear biological combat suits. John and Cassie are forced to go back to the school building, which is now being cordoned off by the combat troops.

Almost everyone contracted the disease through the punch. When the director wanted to inquire about the situation, he was shot in the head by the soldiers. When these smoke grenades are thrown into the school, John, Alex and Cassie mistake them for biological weapons and flee to a locker room. There they search their bodies for blood blisters and puffy skin, as they have already noticed at the caretaker. Alex realizes he's gotten infected and makes his way to the library to find out what he's suffering from. Cassie encounters a pregnant woman who is also suffering from the disease while the birth has started. The woman collapses and Cassie flees to John. They both hide in an adjoining room where they meet one of their teachers. She screams with happiness that she made it and is still alive. However, she also suffers from the disease. When a soldier enters the room, she is shot, but John and Cassie are not discovered by him. They now also make their way to the library to look for Alex. When they find him, he is already badly marked by the disease. Now John also realizes that an infection has now developed on his forearm. Marc stands outside the library and wants to let them know that he is healthy. He loses control and smashes the skull of an infected person with a fire extinguisher. John and Cassie escape to a workshop, and there John wants to take care of his illness. He asks Cassie to perform an amputation using a circular saw . Then she burns out his wound and puts on a bandage. Marc chased the two and goes after John, but Cassie kills him with a nail gun. John and Cassie flee through a forest, but they are picked up by the soldiers. When they want to take Cassie away, John manages to overpower a soldier for a moment so that Cassie can continue her escape. John's fate with the soldiers remains uncertain. When Cassie arrives on a street, Winston and his relative Herman take Cassie with them, and all three flee the city.

Reviews

On the film website Filmstarts , Florian Koch's film received a rating of 1/5 stars: “Ti West's extremely explicit gorecomedy is hard to beat in terms of level. Sexist, illogical and completely free of tension, the director indulges in primitive personalities that no longer have anything in common with the not exactly squeamish Eli Roth original. The only thing left is the cry for the health department so that this lame virus doesn't break out a third time. "

The lexicon of international films writes about Cabin Fever 2 : “The straggler of a questionable horror film [...], which at most stands out for its disgusting effects. Both the director of the first part and the director of this film distanced themselves from the work after the final cut. "
