Caetano Antônio Lima dos Santos OFMCap (born October 26, 1916 in Altamira , Brazil ; † November 11, 2014 ) was a Brazilian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Ilhéus .

Life

Caetano Antônio Lima dos Santos joined the Capuchin Order and was ordained a priest on December 15, 1940 .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on April 16, 1958 Bishop of Ilhéus . The Archbishop of São Salvador da Bahia , Augusto Álvaro Cardinal da Silva , donated him episcopal ordination on August 10 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were José Terceiro de Sousa , Bishop of Penedo , and José Alves de Sà Trindade , Archbishop of Montes Claros . He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

On December 19, 1969, Pope Paul VI took his early resignation and appointed him titular bishop of Tagarbala . He gave up this title in 1970 and was placed in the layman's position.
