Café Hahn
The Café Hahn is a music - and cabaret club in Koblenz . The club, located in the Güls district , was founded in 1981 by Karl Hubert Hahn (called Berti). He took over the long-established café with a small supermarket from his father and made it the most important cultural club on the Middle Rhine . From 24. to 28. May 2006 the 25th anniversary was celebrated with a big festival and over 50 bands and artists in and around the Café Hahn.
Both international and national stars of the jazz , blues , rock , folk , country , cabaret and comedy scenes performed here. So were Chris Farlowe , Bernard Allison , Dave Brubeck , Joe Zawinul , Jango Edwards , Anke Engelke , Stefan Raab , Michael Mitter Meier , Bulent Ceylan or Mario Barth already a guest at the Café Hahn. Other highlights in the program are the breakfast shows on Sunday morning, the “Rosa Bütt”, and variety shows at Easter and Christmas. Here occur u. a. international variety artists such as Carl Einar Häckner, Dua DanShouding, Yulija Boshuna, Oleksandr Tichonvm and Erik Ivarsson.
The “Förderverein Kultur im Café Hahn e. V. “supports young artists and newcomers with the help of sponsors such as Koblenz-Touristik and the Kultursommer Rheinland-Pfalz , who thereby get a chance to increase their level of awareness. Café Hahn is also a talent discoverer and is the artistic director of the annual Koblenz jugglers and cabaret festival , which is organized by Koblenz Tourism.
Café Hahn is also jointly responsible for various open-air festivals , such as the world music festival Horizonte at the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress and the “Schängelmarkt”. During the Federal Garden Show 2011 , Cafe Hahn organized variety and comedy events as well as small concerts.
Since 2012, Café Hahn GmbH has also been responsible for the catering at the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress and the event management of public and closed events. A total of four restaurants and nine indoor and outdoor venues create the basis for a multitude of cultural highlights, such as concerts and comedy. The fortress variety in the domed halls (November and December) with acrobatic and culinary highlights is already an integral part of the Koblenz event calendar.
Berti Hahn was awarded the Koblenz Citizens' Prize in 2015.
