history

First flight on March 28, 2011

Camair-Co was founded as a state company in 2006 to replace Cameroon Airlines , which had to cease operations in 2008 due to corruption. The design of the Camair-Co is in some parts based on that of its predecessor. On March 28, 2011 Camair-Co started operations with a domestic flight from Douala to Yaoundé , the first international flight took place on the same day as the first flight on the route from Douala to Paris . The company cooperates with Lufthansa Technik in the maintenance area . In October 2012 Camair-Co ordered two Boeing 787-8s , which were originally supposed to be delivered around 2015.

On March 30, 2015, two out of three Xi'an MA60s were delivered to Camair-Co; flight operations with the turboprop airliners should begin at Christmas 2015 for national destinations.

Camair-Co flies to destinations in Central and West Africa from Douala . Paris was the only European destination to be served, but it is no longer included in the current flight schedule
