Cameron Britton

Cameron Britton (* 1986 ) is an American actor . He was best known for portraying serial killer Edmund Kemper on the Netflix series Mindhunter , for which he received an Emmy nomination in 2018 .

life and career

Britton grew up on a California winery and attended Analy High School in Sebastopol . After graduating from school, he moved to Los Angeles in 2004 , where he began training at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy , which he dropped out after a year and a half. Prior to his acting career, Britton worked for over eight years as a pre-school teacher for special needs children aged 18 months to three years. In the evenings he played theater with the Loft Ensemble .

Britton originally wanted to make a name for himself in the comedic field, but his engagements are mostly more serious roles. He made his television debut in 2014 in the crime documentary series Fatales trust - So close to the murderer . Britton made his first film appearance in the comedy Camp Takota (2014). From 2015 to 2017 he played a supporting role in the science fiction crime series Stitchers . He also had a guest appearance on the television series Battle Creek in 2015 .

The acting breakthrough came in 2017 with the role of imprisoned serial killer Edmund Kemper in the thriller drama series Mind Hunter by director David Fincher in which he in the first and second season in a total of four episodes on the side of, Jonathan Groff to see is. In addition to filming the first season of Mindhunter , Britton was a babysitter. For his performance in Mindhunter , he received numerous positive reviews and a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for best guest actor in a drama series. In Fede Alvarez 'Thriller conspiracy dating back to 2018 to see Britton in a supporting role as a computer specialist and in the television series Barry he played a detective. At the side of Mary J. Blige , he began filming the 2019 Netflix series The Umbrella Academy , an adaptation of the comic series of the same name. In the second season of the series Manhunt (2020) he plays Richard Jewell .

Britton is 1.96 m tall and is married and lives in Los Angeles.
