reception
The series received excellent reviews in its first season: Mindhunter was able to secure a rating of 96% at Rotten Tomatoes . Bjarne Bock said on behalf of Serienjunkies.de as follows: "The David Fincher drama Mindhunter can be located somewhere between True Detective , Hannibal and Mad Men in terms of content and style ." Bock criticized the imbalance of the narrative tempo and the increasing neglect of the scientific aspect of the story, but overall he was confident that “this exciting and fantastically staged Netflix series will easily succeed” in “captivating its viewers deeply ".
Keith Uhlich of the Hollywood Reporter praised the main actor of the series as well as the director: "Groff is convincing from the first moment as a person whose raw talent is as an obstacle as an advantage and Fincher's surgical precision is evident in every tiny detail. for example with the police megaphone, which distorts the voice of a police officer in exactly the right amount in a nerve-wracking manner ”.
Cameron Britton received an Emmy nomination for best guest actor in a drama series for his role as Edmund Kemper .
