Camilla Weber

Camilla Weber (* 1970 in Schwandorf ) is a German historian, romance scholar and archivist. She is the director of the Regensburg Episcopal Central Archives.

Life

Growing up in Regensburg, Camilla Weber studied German , Romance studies and history in Regensburg and L'Aquila . She continued her studies with a subsequent doctorate in Zurich . This was followed by archival training at the Vatican School for Paleography, Diplomatics and Archival Studies in Rome (Vatican), which is affiliated with the Vatican Secret Archives .

Since 1998 she has been working as an archivist at the Bishop's Central Archives in Regensburg. On September 1, 2014, she took on the role of director of the archive, the library, the matriculation office and the St. Michaelsbund .

Main areas of activity

  • Archive: Supervision of the offices of the Ordinariate and the parish offices with regard to records management
  • Library: building up the holdings, especially that of the special collection " Proske Library" (music collection)
  • Sankt Michaelsbund : Support of the voluntary library work in the parish offices and in the ordinariate
  • Promotion of church cultural work through historical research, exhibitions, guided tours and lectures
