The Cantache is a river in France , in the departments of Mayenne and Ille-et-Vilaine of regions Pays de la Loire and Brittany runs.

It rises in the municipality of Saint-Pierre-des-Landes under the name Ruisseau de Champlin and changes its name several times in the upper reaches. It generally drains in a south-westerly direction and is dammed up at Châtillon-en-Vendelais to form the Étang de Châtillon . From here on it will definitely be named Cantache . Below Montreuil-sous-Pérouse, it also endows the Plan d'Eau de la Cantache reservoir and, after a total of around 36 kilometers, flows into the Vilaine as a right tributary on the municipal boundary of Saint-Jean-sur-Vilaine and Pocé-les-Bois .
