The Capanna Corno Gries (also Capanna Corno-Gries , dt. Corno Gries Hütte ) is a mountain hut of the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) and property of the Rossberg section in Zug . The hut is named after the Grieshorn (Italian Corno Gries). It was inaugurated in 1927 and expanded in 2007.
description
The hut is located at an altitude of 2338 m in Val Corno, northeast of the Grieshorn and above the Nufenenpass road . It is located above the Alpe di Cruina and the village of All'Acqua in the municipality of Bedretto in the upper Bedretto valley in the canton of Ticino .
The hut was built in 1927, enlarged in 1933 and renovated in 1978. In 2007 it was increased and enlarged according to the plans of the architect Silvano Caccia. It now consists of three floors (entrance and sanitary facilities, dining room and kitchen, bedrooms), has a dining room for 70 people with a 360 ° panoramic view of the surroundings and has 50 beds in nine rooms.
The hut has been owned by the SAC section Rossberg in Zug since 2017, previously it belonged to the SAC section Bellinzona .
In the absence of the hut warden, a stove with wood or gas including kitchen utensils is available. Toilets and running water are located inside the building. It is heated with wood. In addition to mains electricity from hydropower, solar panels are also available for lighting. The hut has a material ropeway.
