Cape Canaveral AFS Launch Complex 4 (LC-4) is a disused launch pad at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on Merritt Island , Cape Canaveral in Florida , USA . It was used in the 1950s and early 1960s for launches to develop and test the Bomarc interceptor missile , the Redstone missile, and the Matador cruise missile .

history

Originally, the launch pad with LC-1 , LC-2 and LC-3 for the Snark - cruise missile program built.

After the last Bomarc launch in 1960, some buildings in the launch complex were used as medical supplies in the Mercury program . The launch site was last used for Aerostat radar balloons in the 1980s.
