Card Captor Sakura Clear Card Arc ( Japanese カ ー ド キ ャ プ タ ー さ く ら ク リ ア カ ー ド 編 ) is a manga series by Clamp that has been published in Japan since 2016. It can be classified into the genres of Comedy , Magical Girl , Romance and Shōjo and is the continuation of Card Captor Sakura . In 2018, the manga was adapted as an anime television series.
content
After her adventurous hunt for the clow cards, Sakura Kinomoto now hopes for a peaceful further school life when she starts middle school. She meets many friends again, Shaoran Li has also returned and goes to the same school with her. But then she notices that her clow cards are all empty. With Yukito Tsukishiro, the second guardian of the cards, they make the same discovery and realize that the cards have lost their magic too. Only Sakura herself is not affected. In a dream, she receives a new key and meets a mysterious person who hovers over the city. The key is real the next morning, and so she and her friends set out to solve the new puzzle of the cards.
Publications
The series has been published by Kodansha in Nakayoshi magazine since June 2016 . The chapters have also been published in five edited volumes so far. These each sold over 250,000 times.
A German translation has been published by Egmont Manga since July 2018, currently in two volumes. Kodansha himself publishes the series in English, a Spanish translation is published by Norma Editorial and a Chinese translation is published by Tong Li Publishing .
Anime adaptations
In 2017 an original video animation for the manga was created, which was published on November 13, 2017 under the title Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card-hen Prologue - Sakura to Futatsu no Kuma . The production of Studio Madhouse was directed by Morio Asaka and scripted by Nanase Ohkawa . The character design was created by Kunihiko Hamada and the artistic direction was Tomoyuki Shimizu . The 25-minute film with English, French and Spanish subtitles was released via the online platforms Crunchyroll and Wakanim . Funimation Entertainment released an English dubbed version.
This was followed by the production of a 22-part anime television series for 2018, which, like the OVA, was made by Madhouse and with the same team. The broadcast of the episodes began on January 7, 2018 on NHK E and was completed on June 10, 2018. In German-speaking countries, the series was licensed as Cardcaptor Sakura - Clear Card Arc by Peppermint Anime and distributed by Wakanim as Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card via streaming as a simulcast , in English-speaking countries by Crunchyroll and Hulu . Funimation brought out an English dubbed version.

The music was composed by Takayuki Negishi . The credits of the OVA are underlaid with the song Yakusoku no Sora ( 約束 の 空 ) by Junko Iwao . The TV series' two opening credits are Clear by Maaya Sakamoto and Rocket Beat by Kiyono Yasuno . The Lieber Jewelry by Saori Hayami and Rewind by Minori Suzuki were used for the two endings .
