Caris Coleman LeVert (born August 25, 1994 in Columbus , Ohio ) is an American basketball player who is currently under contract with the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA .

Life

college

LeVert played for the University of Michigan basketball team for four years . He missed many games due to a severe foot injury in his third year of college. Even in his senior year he had to miss a few games because of the same injury.

NBA

In the 2016 NBA draft , he was drawn in 20th place by the Indiana Pacers and later transferred to the Brooklyn Nets for Thaddeus Young . In his rookie year he saw a lot of playing time in a young Netsteam and scored 8.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 57 games. In his sophomore year, he increased to 12.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 71 games this season.

In his third year, LeVert suffered a serious foot injury after a few good early season games. He suspended 42 games and returned to the floor in February 2019. He helped the Nets to participate in the playoffs and scored an average of 21.0 points in the first five first-round matches of the playoffs against the favored Philadelphia 76ers . However, the Nets were eliminated.
